There are many things that I enjoy in life, but not many compare to the joy I get from watching college football. Specifically, the Iowa Hawkeyes. From late August through the beginning of January, most of my Saturdays involve getting together with family and friends to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes.
One of the reasons that I enjoy watching the Hawkeyes so much is due to the rivalry games. From the Cy-Hawk game between Iowa and Iowa State, to the Iowa vs. Minnesota game in which the trophy is a bronze pig named "Floyd of Rosedale". These games are exciting to watch, and even if one team is having a terrible year, it seems you never can predict the outcome.
The Hawkeyes play their home games in historic Kinnick Stadum located in Iowa City. The stadium is named after Nile Kinnick, the only Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Iowa. Nile tragically passed away shortly after leaving the university while serving in the United States Navy. The stadium was named in his honor in 1972.
